Los Angeles, CA – August 21st, 2025 — Sedare Records, a groundbreaking new label co-founded by Josh Goodwin and Lathea Smyles, has officially joined forces with Forecast Music Group (FMG) under its distribution deal with The Orchard–Sony to launch the industry’s first full-scale comedy label. This bold partnership sets the stage for a new model in entertainment, one where audiences connect with content in lasting, transformative ways.

At the helm of Sedare are two powerhouse leaders. Josh Goodwin, Co-Founder and CEO of Sedare Records, continues his career in corporate finance while applying his expertise in systems and scalability to build sustainable frameworks for artists and comedians. Alongside him, Lathea Smyles, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, brings more than 25 years of experience in entertainment, producing large-scale stage shows, high-profile comedy showcases, and projects alongside A-list talent across television, film, and live events.

“Comedy has always been a powerful voice in culture, but too often that voice hasn’t had the structure or equity it deserves,” said Smyles. “At Sedare Records, we’re building more than a label—we’re creating a global platform where comedians own their impact, expand their reach, and transform their art into legacy.”

The first project under Sedare’s banner will be Legends of Laughter, Vol. 1, a historic comedy compilation featuring A-list comedians and rising voices. The project will serve as both an introduction to Sedare’s mission and a proof of concept for how comedy can be distributed, marketed, and celebrated at the same scale as music.
